Watercourse buffer zone (Bufferzone langs vandløb)

A buffer zone is a strip along a watercourse where land use is assessed separately, for example for planting or extensive farming.

Freyra's planting analysis uses zones of 10 and 20 m along the official watercourse line as a starting point for screening where trees can provide shade and stable banks. This is a screening exercise, not a legally defined zone.
