§ 3-protected habitats (§ 3-natur)
§ 3-protected habitats are habitat types protected under § 3 of Denmark's Nature Protection Act, meaning their condition must not be altered without an exemption.
Protection covers natural lakes larger than 100 m², designated watercourses, and heathland, bogs, salt meadows, coastal marshes, freshwater meadows and semi-natural dry grasslands covering a contiguous area larger than 2,500 m². Bogs smaller than 2,500 m² are protected when connected to a protected lake or watercourse.
The municipality is the competent authority. The map layer showing protected habitat types is indicative.
