Grant rate and funding

SGAV (Danish Agency for Green Transition and Aquatic Environment) may award grants covering 100% of eligible expenditure. VKP low-lying land projects in track 1 are 100% funded by the EU through ELFUL (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development). The other VKP measures receive 80% EU funding and 20% national funding. Feasibility studies and track 2 are nationally funded.

Everything starts in MARS

All applications start in MARS (the Danish land-use planning system), where the project area is mapped. The location of the mapped area determines what can be investigated. For example, a nitrogen wetland must be located in a sub-catchment requiring nitrogen reduction measures, and a low-lying land project must be located on carbon-rich low-lying soils.

Registered covenant and signage

Before payment, a covenant requiring the project to be maintained must be registered against all properties in the project area, with SGAV entitled to enforce it. If a track 1 project has total costs exceeding DKK 3,600,000, EU funding must be acknowledged through physical signage.

Where can Freyra help?

Freyra does not apply for grants on your behalf or carry out the impact calculations. We provide a dated, traceable picture of the area before the project, which can form part of the feasibility study and serve as a basis for comparison in subsequent documentation.
